COMMERCIAL IMPACT ADVISORY GROUP – CIAG

The Commercial Impact Advisory Group (CIAG) is made up of relevant Industry professionals other than those in the Project SmartSet Consortium. The CIAG advises on development and refinement of the business model for the SmartSet technology based on market research gathered by the consortium. The CIAG also advises and evaluates the commercial exploitation strategy produced by the consortium and will feed into the design/development process where appropriate.

Research and development focused company for TV-Broadcast and digital image processing. He was Director Sales and Business Development of optical transport networks in Europe, Middle East and North America. Author of New methods and dedicated workflow for TV-broadcasters for the video based analysis of gun shooting competitions by using stereoscopic high-speed cameras.

Online news producer at Lapin Kansa, the largest regional newspaper in Finnish Lapland. Columnist and public speaker. Co-author of the book “The alphabets of modern worklife” (Docendo). Previously entrepreneur on the field of communication and a teacher of media studies.

Professor Hannu Kahakorp
Professor Hannu Kahakorp
Professor Hannu Kahakorpi is one of the most successful producers in the Finnish television history. He has been working as a director, producer, scriptwriter and actor both in film and TV and has received many international awards for his work.
In 2015 Mr. Kahakorpi received Lifetime Achievement Venla (Finnish television award).

Mr. Trond I. Hovland
Trond I. Hovland is the project manager for NxtMedia, a Norwegian publicly funded cluster for media innovation based in Trondheim. Trond has a background as journalist and editor in several Norwegian newspapers. Since 1994 he has worked mainly with business and project development in digital media. First in the A-pressen media corporation, then for 10 years as a consultant in three different companies. He was the leader of the competence network New Media Network and has worked mainly with NxtMedia the last 4 years.

Mr. Bae SungUk
Director of Uwin Info Sys in Seoul. Mr. SungUk has been working in Broadcasting Industry for the last 20 years. During his first 10 working years he worked as software developer for the broadcasting industry. At that time he developed automation transmission software, newsroom computer system and graphic automation for election and sports. He founded and developed new business and managed sales, technical support.
Dr. Veli-Pekka Räty
Dr. Veli-Pekka Räty
Experience designer, visual storyteller, and research scientist at Three Images.
He works with audiovisual content, technology, and education; recently virtual studios for education. He is enthusiastic in combining media and technology.
He has researched and designed e.g. games, virtual spaces, motivating fitness equipment, new types of user interfaces, and visual communication.
Mr. Fady Boustany
Mr. Fady Boustany
General Manager of Pharaon Broadcast in Libanon since 2003. Mr. Boustany has a large experience in the broadcasting industry working for Pharaon Holding since 1983. He started in Pharaon as Managing Director of a video game company until 1996 and then, he was promoted to manage Pharaon Broadcast.

Joseph received a B.S. and M.S. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan before entering the business arena with Ford Motor in Beijing. Joseph’s curiosity and passion for learning then took him to Philadelphia, PA and St. Joseph’s University, where he received his second M.S. as a scholarship student. After graduation, opportunities as a Senior Database Developer at eCal Corporation and Database Engineers at Centiv in Massachusetts kept Joseph in the US for five more years. It seems Joseph returned to China with a TV habit, because he found himself at Beijing Xingguang Film and TV Equipment Technologies. As director of international department, he became immersed in the world of broadcast and the equipment that makes it function.

Ann L. Cudworth is an entrepreneur, visionary, and a pioneer in virtual scenery. Ann is also an Emmy winning designer of real and virtual scenery for national television, and creator of narration driven virtual game experiences.
39 years in the design business- doing everything from environmental sculpture to virtual worlds- with television, film and theater set design woven in.
